Abris PE plans to invest EUR 450 mln in CEE in three years

TAG'S: Metals Industry

Private equity fund Abris Capital Partners wants to invest EUR 450 mln in Poland and the broader CEE region in the coming three years, partner at Abris Pawel Gierynski told reporters on Wednesday.

"We are closing a fund worth EUR 450 mln and this is our purchasing strength for the coming three years," Gierynski said. "We want to continue to invest in Poland and CEE countries. We are especially interested in sectors such as waste processing, logistics or parcel services."

Among the planned divestitures, Abris intends to sell its whole 55% stake in metals firm Alumetal, the official also indicated.

"Alumetal's issue prospectus is at the KNF [financial regulator]; we have a 55% stake there and it is our intention to sell the whole stake," he said.

Commenting on a recent KNF action banning Abris from exercising its shareholder rights at FM Bank PBP and ordering the fund to sell the bank's shares by end-2014, Gierynski said Abris would file a motion to financial market regulator KNF to reconsider its decision, which the fund considers "surprising."
