Trakcja builder hopes to increase backlog by PLN 1 bln - CEO

TAG'S: TRAKCJA, Construction

Listed builder Trakcja hopes to double its backlog from the current level of ca. PLN 1 bln thanks to tenders where the firm submitted the best bids, CEO Jaroslaw Tomaszewski told reporters.

"We expect to sign contracts in tenders where our offers were the best: their value stands at some PLN 1 bln," Tomaszewski said.

The said bids include a PLN 376 mln offer for modernizing railway tracks near Warsaw, a PLN 300 mln offer in Lithuania and a PLN 173 mln bid to modernize the E59 railway near Poznan, the official enumerated.

At present the firm's backlog stands at some PLN 1 bln.

Trakcja currently witnesses increased competition and pressure for margins on the railway construction market, but succeeds in maintaining profitability and wants to maintain market share in this segment, Tomaszewski also said.

Apart from railway contracts, Trakcja is trying to win contracts in the road construction segment and has passed preliminary qualification stages in contracts worth some PLN 3 bln, he added.
