PGNiG natgas claims 30% stake in consortium negotiating purchase of EDF assets - CEO


Listed natural gas group PGNiG's heat unit PGNiG Termika claims a 30% share in the potential acquisition of the Polish assets of the French utility EDF, CEO Piotr Wozniak told reporters.

"Our declared share is 30%," Wozniak said.


Two of the consortium members are claiming 30% stakes, two 20% stakes, Wozniak added.


PGNiG Termika and power utilities PGE, Enea and Energa are negotiating the acquisition of all shares of EDF in EDF Polska, which owns four cogeneration plants i.e. Kraków, Gdansk, Gdynia and Torun, district heating network in Torun, Rybnik Power Plant, and acquisition of all shares of EDF in ZEW Kogeneracja S.A., which is the owner of four Combined Heat and Power Plants i.e. Wrocław, Zielona Gora, Czechnica and Zawidawie and district heating network in Zielona Gora, Siechnica and Zawidawie.


The division of assets between consortium partners has not been decided yet, the PGNiG official said.
