T-Mobile Polska posts disappoiting figures, EBITDA in decline

TAG'S: Telecoms

T-Mobile Polska, a unit of the German telco giant, reported a 17.2% y/y reduction in Q1 adjusted EBITDA to PLN 431 mln, while its top line declined by 4.6% y/y to PLN 1.57 bln, T-Mobile said in a press statement.

Adjusted for a Q1 2016 one-off, the revenue decline would have come to 1.2% and the EBITDA decline to 7.1%, management claimed.

T-Mobile lays claim to a 2.7% year on year and 1.2% q/q rise in post-paid subscribers to 6.70 mln. But global customer counts have fallen on account of the hit to pre-paid counts following registration regulations from late 2016.

Revenues are "holding at a relatively stable level," management said, citing higher equipment sales partially offsetting the decline in service revenues.

The steeper EBITDA decline was also put in part to rising interconnect and roaming costs.
